Every cat is an individual, but each breed has typical traits. Here is a quick guide to the four breeds we raise at Catacure.
Ragdoll — the gentle giant
- Personality: sweet, calm and loving; often follows its people from room to room.
- Size: large — males typically 12–20 lbs, females 8–15 lbs.
- Coat & grooming: silky semi-longhair; brush a few times a week.
- Good for: families and anyone who wants a relaxed, cuddly companion.
Russian Blue — quietly devoted
- Personality: gentle, loyal and playful once it knows you; generally quiet.
- Size: medium.
- Coat & grooming: short, dense blue coat tipped with silver, with vivid green eyes; brush once or twice a week.
- Good for: calmer homes; usually gets along with children and other pets.
Abyssinian — the athlete
- Personality: active, curious, intelligent and very devoted.
- Size: medium, slim and muscular.
- Coat & grooming: short ticked coat; easy to groom.
- Good for: people who are home often and enjoy play — Abyssinians need daily play, climbing space and things to explore.
Minuet — small legs, big heart
- Personality: laid-back, affectionate, playful and curious.
- Size: medium, with short legs — adults average 7–8 lbs.
- Coat & grooming: longhair or shorthair, in every colour and pattern; longhaired Minuets need more brushing.
- Good for: apartments and families. Provide low furniture, steps or ramps so they don't jump down from high places.
